UNM - Java Programmer

Programmer Wanted

Professor in search of assistance with making music theory applets in Java

The applets will eventually be published as part of a textbook. The
compensation is flexible—could include a by-line.

The project will involve making a basic applet, and then adding features to
it for various types of problems. The applets will quiz students on music
skills such as key signatures, intervals, and triads.

There will be three types of problems:
1. Identification—multiple-choice
2. Writing—dragging notes onto a staff
3. Aural—identification of sounds.

The intended timeline for the project is from the end of May to the end of
July. The ability to read music is not required. The professor has some
basic programming skills, so he will be able to communicate effectively
with the programmer.

If you would like to be involved with this project, please contact Dr. Paul
Lombardi at:  lombardi@unm.edu
