Description:
Front-End Web Developer & Designer

HEROweb Marketing & Design is adding a Front-End Web Developer to our team.
The ideal candidate will take a key role in developing websites for our
customers and take part in implementing projects focused around creating
user-friendly web and mobile applications.

Our web sites are all built using the MightyMerchant Ecommerce/CMS system.
The successful candidate will learn how to use MightyMerchant's
capabilities and bring fresh ideas and perspectives to our platform. The
person we are looking for will have a unique blend of drive, initiative,
creative ability, and strong communication skills. And, in a fast-paced
business such as ours, the devil is in the details. We are looking for a
detail-oriented individuals who can manage many simultaneous projects
skillfully.

Overall Responsibilities:
- Develop high-quality websites from start to finish using the
MightyMerchant suite of Ecommerce and web development tools
- Understand our company's vision and philosophy and work as part of a team
to help us reach our goals
- Manage projects and keep customers on task
- Create beautiful visual web designs and/or be able to work with and
manage contract graphic designers to implement web projects
- Project energy, enthusiasm, and knowledge about our services and doing
business online Essential Functions:
- Build database/template-driven ecommerce and business websites using the
MightyMerchant platform
- Use CSS layout and design techniques
- Create UI elements using CSS, jQuery and Javascript
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with customers
- Update and maintain existing web sites
- Document the techniques and solutions you develop
- Become an expert in web usability
- Contribute to development of new technologies and processes for
delivering high quality web sites
- Be actively engaged with Social Media
- Gain a strong working knowledge of Search Engine Optimization principals
- Test sites for functionality and accuracy
- Contribute to end-user and developer documentation
- Communicate with customers throughout the design process

Qualifications:
Beneficial Skills and Abilities:
- Expert in writing standards-compliant HTML and CSS
- Experience with OO Javascript and familiarity with jQuery
- Knowledge of web usability best practices
- Proficiency with graphic design tools such as Photoshop and Fireworks
- Proven time management and excellent organization skills
- Expertise in achieving cross-browser compatibility in IE, Firefox,
Chrome, and Safari
- Experience with eCommerce and template-driven web development a plus
