Description:
PRIMARY OBJECTIVES:
The Software Engineer is an integral member of the engineering team responsible for deployment, development and support of the CommandCAD product. The team is also responsible for project specific customizations to the baseline product.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
• Key member of a team that is responsible for engineering new features and functions as required by project and product specifications
• Provide occasional on-site support to install, test, and troubleshoot CommandCAD software
• Responsible for providing project implementation support
• Provides continued support and maintenance of CommandCAD systems
• Program in .NET/C#/C
• Solve technical problems and troubleshooting software and system difficulties
• Develop utilities and tools to aid in deployment and maintenance
• Develop software design documents, product and project software customizations
• Support responsibilities include after hours pager availability
• Generate client specific software builds and support build testing
Qualifications:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• BA/BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent
• Microsoft Windows programming experience in the development of Windows applications using C or C#
• Demonstrated proficiency at developing sound solutions to functional requirements, technical problems and troubleshooting software and system difficulties
• Self-motivated with the ability to effectively interact with all levels within the company as well as with high-level local government agencies
• Excellent organizational skills
• Ability to work independently, and function efficiently as part of a team
• Programming experience with Microsoft development tools including Visual Studio, C, C#, VB or VFP
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to prioritize and multi-task
• Works reliably
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to travel occasionally
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Experience in a Public Safety computer environment is a plus
• Familiar with SEI CMM Level 2 and 3 practices
• Experienced in Object Oriented Analysis and Design (OOAD), Object Oriented Programming (OOP), and Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA)
• Experienced in TCP/IP network programming
• Experienced in database schema design and the ability to design database structures to efficiently satisfy product needs
