UO Solar Radiation Monitoring Laboratory: Developing information for a Solar Powered Future
For more than thirty years, the University of Oregon Solar Radiation Monitoring Laboratory (UO SRML) has supplied high-quality, reliable information on the Northwest’s solar resources for the purpose of planning, designing, deploying, and operating the region’s solar energy systems.  In collaboration with utilities, business, and government, the goal of the lab is to help the region leverage its solar energy potential.
Workload: 8-10 hrs/week
Duties: Website and server maintenance, some programming.
Hourly rate: $12/hour
Current activities
  • The UO Solar Radiation Monitoring Laboratory
  • Gathers solar radiation data at twenty-eight locations in the Northwest
  • Provides easy access to the solar radiation data gathered in the region
  • Monitors and evaluates the performance of solar energy systems
  • Develops new tools to facilitate the deployment of solar energy systems
  • Creates solar electric education curricula for high school science students
  • Published a solar monitoring textbook, Solar and Infrared Radiation Monitoring, CRC Press, June 2012
  • Calibrates solar radiation monitoring equipment
  • Assists in design and monitoring for PV testing facilities
  • Operates a solar resource website that was contact by over 110,000 unique hosts, from 155 countries, serving nearly 300,000 page request and transferring 60 gigabytes of data in 2011.
In addition, the UO SRML is working with SuNRISE towards creation of an outdoor ISO certified PV module testing facility to augment SuNRISE’s indoor PV testing facilities.
Starting in November 2012, UO SRML will host a NREL PV module testing facility for 14 months.

Our company, Irrinet LLC, does Scientific Irrigation Scheduling and offers an internship position for a programmer to develop and maintain a web based application in agriculture.  
The software is registered, and the web based application is partially complete.   Further development entails , amongst others, communication with external devices (weather stations, soil moisture sensors, remote sensing) as well as third party data bases by way of web queries, XML and RSS feeds.  
The applicant must be proficient and experienced in pHp, MySQL, GIT, cakepHp framework and JavaScript.
The company office is based in The Dalles, Oregon.  
Payment starts at $20.00 per hour, negotiable, depending on experience and performance.
The position is immediately available.

We are looking for an exceptional individual to provider support for a non-profit mental health and
alcohol and other drug recovery agency. Applicant should have experience with providing customer
service, excellent problem solving skills, and the ability to provide basic trouble-shooting. Experience
with Active Directory, including group policy, server and backup management a plus.

Requirements of the job:

and onsite

• Multi-task well and work on multiple projects simultaneously
• Accurately and thoroughly document work performed without missing details
• Perform well under pressure and in an occasionally stressful environment
• Be available for some evening/weekend server work
• Stay on task and work without supervision, moving from project to project seamlessly

10 hours per week,  $10-20/hour depending upon experience.
