PGE - IT Network Specialist IV (R12-016) (Portland)

Job Title: IT Network Specialist IV (R12-016)
Location: WTC - World Trade Center - Portland

The IT Network Specialist IV position directs complex technical activities
required for the design, security, installation, integration, as well as
ongoing support of the PGE unified communications, voice, video and data
network.

Experience and Skills Requirements

Typically a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent work
experience in a related discipline with five to seven years of previous
network experience.

Typically has a CCNA, CCNP or other technical certifications in a related
discipline.

Working knowledge of networking topologies, routing and switching
protocols, wireless networks, firewalls, VPNs, network management and cable
plant systems.

Working knowledge of network protocols/controls such as: MPLS, Frame-relay,
BGP, EIGRP, Quality of Service, and Multicast.

Working knowledge of switches - Cisco Nexus 7000/5000, Catalyst 6500, 3500,
2900, 1000v; Firewalls - Cisco ASA 5500 series, IBM DataPower XML, Cisco
FWSM and F5 application series; Routers - Cisco 1900, 2900, 3900 series;
Cisco

Wireless; Cisco Content Switching, including GSLB; NetMotion VPN/remote
access; NetScout analysis tools; SolarWinds Network Management tools.

Knowledge of virtual machine and server related technologies, including
virtual firewalls and switching technologies.

Preference for Cisco Unified Computing System (UCS).

Capable of making presentations typically to peers and other technical
professionals.

Ability to work as a self-directed member of the team with minimal
supervision, seeking out guidance as needed.
