UO Business - Student Assistants (Eugene, OR)

Summer 2012 Student Assistant Positions

Matt O'Hern, an Assistant Professor in the Marketing Department of the
Lundquist College of Business is currently looking for 2 or 3 students to
serve as student assistants this summer. Here are the descriptions of these
positions:

Position 1   Wanted: A student to work 3 or more hours per week, who can
assist me in extracting online data using a Python-based tool. The
successful candidate should definitely be comfortable programming in
Python. Experience in developing web spiders would be very helpful but is
not required. The research assistant will be expected to build on and
refine the existing spiders developed by my last student assistant and use
these spiders to collect the website data of interest. Candidates must
currently be enrolled as a U of O student to be considered for this
position. Work study eligibility preferred but not required.

Position 2   Wanted: A student to work approximately 3 or more hours per
week, who can assist me in developing high quality digital images to be
used in our experimental research studies. Ideally, the candidate should
have experience in website development and be comfortable with html and
javascript.  Alternatively, someone with a strong knowledge of Photoshop
may be able to generate the visual materials we need, even if website
development isn't their strong suit. In any event, we are looking for
someone who can quickly turn our ideas into finished  products, and is able
to create professional-looking content.  Candidates
must currently be enrolled as a U of O student to be considered for this
position. Work study eligibility preferred but not required.

Position 3 Wanted: A student to work approximately 3 or more hours per week
who can assist me in running consumer research studies here at the U of O.
No previous experience is required but this person must be organized,
hard-working, and conscientious. A good knowledge of excel, sql or both,
would be an added plus but is not required. Work study eligibility for
summer 2012 is required for this position.

If you are interested in one of the positions above, please contact Matt
O'Hern, Assistant Professor of Marketing via email at mohern@uoregon.edu.
