FBI - Computer Scientist (Portland, OR)

FEDERAL BUREAU OF INVESTIGATION (FBI)
PORTLAND, OR JOB POSTING: Computer Scientists

The Portland Division of the FBI is recruiting Computer Scientists.  Their primary responsibility will be to
provide professional expertise to support FBI investigative and intelligence programs.
The position will be at the GS 7 through GS 12 level.

The following duties may be required:

o       Computer system and network procurement, installation, administration and security
o       Development and implementation of existing and custom Cyber tools and methods for use
        in the identification, preservation, and analysis of digital evidence
o       Provide technical assistance in conducting interviews, searches and other investigative activity
o       Provide courtroom testimony
o       Conduct liaison and outreach
o       Draft documents related to technical and other professional matters
o       Remain current with new advances in cyber and technology topics and provide guidance
        on such matters
o       Obtain and provide technical and other professional training

Competitive Applicants may include but are not limited to the following:

o       Computer Forensics/investigations
o       Computer Security
o       Internetworking (firewalls, gateways, routers, hubs, WANS, etc)
o       Computer networking administration
o       Computer Programming
o       Computer network architecture/design
o       Computer technical support
o       Operating system administration
o       Other high tech computer experience

Mandatory Qualifications:

o       Applicants must be a United States Citizen
o       Applicant must be able to obtain a Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance

Note:  Bachelor's degree in computer science or bachelor's degree with 30 semester hours
in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science.  At least 15 of the 30 semester
hours must have included any combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential
and integral calculus.  All academic degrees and course work must be from accredited
or pre-accredited institutions.
