UO Center on Teaching and Learning - Tech Support Assistant (Eugene, OR)

Hi all, the UO Center on Teaching and Learning is hiring a part time
student worker for a position as a Tech Support Assistant.  The Center on
Teaching and Learning is an on campus research facility and this position
will provide support for all staff members working within the office.

Applicants can expect to work 15-20 hours a week with varied hours based on
class schedules.

Hours: Varied
Hourly Wage: $11.50
Wage Category: Student Assistant 3 – $10.50-12.50
Hire Date: Spring Term

Job Description:
The Student Tech Support Assistant provides trouble-shooting and technical
support for hardware and software issues on both Mac and Windows computers.
Provides user support for existing technology systems, such as video
conferencing and printing.  Manages set up of new workstations, printers
and other technology.  Provides regularly scheduled computer and printer
maintenance and handles day-to-day tasks. Must have knowledge of current
technologies.

Qualifications:
One year minimum experience in IT.  Experience in computer applications for
Mac and Windows.  Experience in computer hardware support and ability to
diagnose problems as hardware or software related.  Ability to use problem
solving abilities to quickly diagnose and resolve issues.  Basic
understanding of networking.  Must have good communication skills and be
able to explain concepts simply and effectively.  Ability to lift 40 lbs.

This position is eligible for Non-Workstudy, UO Workstudy or Federal
Workstudy
