In Storage & Availability Management Group, you will have the opportunity to ensure that the world’s mission critical IT infrastructure and largest data centers are successfully managed using storage and availability solutions from Symantec. This group drives innovation on storage and server management, data protection, and application performance management solutions across heterogeneous storage and server platforms. Key products in the Storage and Availability Management Group include Veritas Storage Foundation, Veritas Command Central Storage and Veritas Cluster Server product lines.
Job FunctionServices & Support Function
Responsibilities• Provide telephone support to NetBackup customers, typically an enterprise level customer from a large corporate account
• Support the core of the product, its numerous features and extensions, as well as interaction with other Symantec products in heterogeneous environments. (Windows and UNIX)
• Initial Troubleshooting with the use of sophisticated tools
• Analysis of logs, and coordination of all resources to resolve issues
• Ongoing identification of issues
• Documentation of solutions and publication of technical documents
Qualifications• 3+ yrs experience supporting complex applications in Windows and/or UNIX environments.
• Impeccable customer service skills with an emphasis on troubleshooting skills.
• The ability to learn quickly and understand complex situations readily are requisite.
• Solid understanding of TCP/IP networking is essential.
Familiarity with the following desirable:
• Storage area networking
• Network attached storage
• Databases
• Backup and recovery applications
• Tape drives and tape robots
