Alaska Department of Fish and Game - Computer Science Internship (Alaska)

Alaska Department of Fish and Game Summer Internships 2014

I am writing to announce the posting of our Summer 2014 Internship Positions. Current position postings, along with information about the application process, eligibility, FAQs, and downloadable forms can all be found here:www.internships.adfg.alaska.gov.

We have added new Intern Experiences from the 2013 season, as well as “Perfect Packet Hints” to help answer questions and guide you on your way.

Please submit a separate application “packet” for each position you are applying for and include the Internship Position Label found on the position posting. Our Hiring Supervisors are spread out across the state, therefore it is very important that you include ALL of the required supporting documents for EACH position you apply for. A complete  application “packet”  consists of the following (each labeled with the Internship Position Label):
·        Internship Application Form*
·        Resume or Workplace Alaska Applicant Profile
·        Cover Letter
·        A copy of your latest transcript
·        Two (2) Letters of Recommendation
·       Firearms Possession form* (if required for the specific internship).

*These forms can be found on the Resources pagehttp://www.adfg.alaska.gov/index.cfm?adfg=join.resources

Please note that the deadline for all internship position applications is 5:00 pm AK Standard time on March 2, 2014. All of your application materials must be received by this time in order to be reviewed. Application materials should be submitted via email to dfg.internships@alaska.gov . Applications not sent to this email address are not guaranteed to be reviewed.

NOTES REGARDING LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION
The same letters of recommendation may be used when applying for multiple positions. However, copies of the letters must be submitted as part of a complete “packet” for EACH position you are applying for.

We do not require letters of recommendation to be confidential from the applicant. This means that a reference can either email the letter of recommendation (including the Internship Position Label) directly to dfg.internships@alaska.gov, or the applicant can scan and email the letter themselves.

Thank you again for your interest in interning with the Alaska Department of Fish and Game, and good luck with your application!

Sheila Cameron
