Overview of VLDP:

The Verizon Leadership Development Program (VLDP) is an entry level career opportunity that encourages participants to develop the skills and capabilities needed to meet current and future business needs, all while experiencing diverse job rotations across the enterprise in different locations throughout the country.

Here's what you'll experience in this cutting-edge program:

• Participants complete three unique rotations throughout Verizon's core and wireless engineering groups, focusing on the development of key technical and engineering design skills
• Participants strengthen their technical, business and leadership skills through structured, 'real life" assignments; participation in enterprise wide LDP leadership/management development curriculum and defined networking/support activities
• Participants will apply their skills in a full range of high-impact projects, meetings, & presentations
• Participants successfully completing program performance criteria are eligible for placement post program

Overview of Engineering Program:

And that's exactly what you'll experience when you embark on your professional journey with our three year entry-level Engineering Leadership Development Program. Through a series of three powerful rotations across Verizon's global Network & Technology and wireless engineering teams, you'll be immersed in our full range of capabilities and industry-driving innovations. Focusing on the development of key engineering skills, including network engineering and planning, network management and operations, and system performance you'll take your technical, business and leadership prowess to new heights – and build the foundation for a promising future with Verizon as the leader in the communications revolution.

Position Responsibilities May Include:

• Actively participating in the evolution and deployment of next generation wireless technologies, emerging cloud services, and industry leading high speed broadband networks
• Hands-on experience in the roll-out of leading edge applications
• Developing engineering and implementation plans for key network initiatives
• Analyzing and evaluating network performance
• Researching ways to improve the overall customer technology experience Engaging in state of the art network cyber security projects

Position responsibilities will vary by rotation, location, and business.
Qualifications:
Qualifications for Success:
• A Bachelor’s or Master's Degree in an accredited Engineering program or equivalent major
• 3.0 GPA or greater preferred
• Superior organizational, analytical, and problem solving skills
• Self-starter with strong leadership skills; team-oriented
• Excellent quantitative, written, and oral communication skills
• For some roles: advanced modeling and operations research skills
• Able to work effectively under pressure to meet critical deadlines
• Previous related internship/work experience preferred
• Willingness to relocate as candidates may be placed for long- or short-term rotations in locations throughout Verizon’s U.S. footprint. Rotation locations may include, but are not limited to: NYC, NY; Basking Ridge, NJ; Bedminster, NJ; Boston, MA; Ashburn, VA; Charlotte, NC ; Tampa, FL; Atlanta, GA; Dallas, TX; Houston, TX; Little Rock, AR; Denver, CO; Chicago, IL; Walnut Creek, CA; Irvine, CA; Bellevue, WA.
