Job Location: University of Oregon main campus, Eugene Oregon
Appointment: 15-20 hours a week during the semester, 20-40 hours/week during summer or breaks
Salary: $11-13/ hr, commensurate with experience

At ZFIN, we build and maintain a web-based database application for aggregating zebrafish research data from research labs and publications all over the world. With over 30,000 unique visitors per month, the data we make available is a primary resource used in advancing the understanding of human disease.
Our application is based on industry standard, open source technologies, including Java, JSP, jQuery, Lucene, Solr, Groovy, HTML5, and CSS3.
We are searching for 2 - 3 highly motivated, energetic, and creative students to join our small, collaborative team to work on projects such as:
. developing new functionality
. automating data retrieval and integration
. migrating from Informix database to PostgreSQL
. improving / refactoring existing code
. QA / testing / writing test scripts / regression testing
If you....
...have Upper Level programming experience with Java and/or web technologies such as JSP or JavaScript
...are planning to stay at the University of Oregon for at least 1 - 2 more years
...have a keen desire to learn and contribute
