Cambia Health Solutions - Multiple

Last spring, Cambia Health Solutions conducted a hiring initiative in Oregon and SW Washington to bring on a new class of 20 Business Information Systems and Computer Science graduates in Software Development and QA roles. This entry-level position participates in a team environment for the delivery and maintenance of application systems.

AS AN IT ASSOCIATE YOU MAY:

· Develop efficient and maintainable program code

· Develop efficient and effective program and system solutions in solving simple business problems

· Provide consulting support for IT and Business partners by researching, identifying and resolving technical programming problems

· Develop simple programs and systems in support of business processes and objectives

· Prepares system test plans, test criteria, and test data

· Develops innovative solutions to problems

· Determine program design and prepares work estimates for development or changes for assigned work

· Prepare program, system, operational and User documentation

· Perform testing and documents the results

· Design and write formal test plans and test specifications to address unit, system and integration testing.

· Execute detailed test procedures, manual or automatic, designed to validate application functional requirements

· Ensure that software requirements are verifiable and quantifiable

· Writes test plans and build test cases with direct involvement from business customers

· Creates and maintains automated test scripts

· Documents defects in a tracking system

· Uses automated testing tools

· Ensure that reliability considerations have been adequately addressed during the development life cycle

· Contributes to efficient and effective program and system solutions in solving light to medium-complex business problems

· Develops light to medium-complex programs and systems in support of software quality assurance processes and objectives

KEY QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE FOR SOFTWARE DEVELOPER ROLE:

· Academic experience, including development projects, with one or more of the following premium technologies: Java, J2EE, .NET, Unix Infrastructure, Oracle, mobile apps, and/or SQL Server/MySQL

· Work well with business customers and IT partners

· Take direction from others in analyzing and solving program and system issues and problems

· Familiar with core technologies and methodologies used by the team

· Effectively adapt to rapidly changing technologies and methodologies and apply them to technological and/or business needs of limited scope

· Analyze, diagnose and resolve simple programming problems and system coordination issues

· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Information Systems or a related field (OR currently enrolled in degree program through winter or spring 2013)

MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES FOR SOFTWARE QUALITY ROLE:

· Academic experience working on complex computer science projects

· Familiarity with an object oriented language, preferably Java or C#

· Work well with business customers and IT partners

· Technically proficient in core technologies and methodologies used by the team

Dynamic Measurement Group is an educational company dedicated to supporting success for children and schools. DMG was founded by the authors of Dynamic Indicators of Basic Early Literacy Skills (DIBELS) and is the official home of DIBELS. The mission of DMG is to improve outcomes for children and support school success by developing and conducting research on assessment and curricular materials that can be used to promote reading success.

We are currently seeking a part-time to full-time programming intern for the Summer.

The position is appropriate for a graduate student or recent graduate in CIS, or a Junior or Senior who has completed at least half of the core requirements for a Bachelor's degree in CIS.

Position Summary and Responsibilities
The selected intern(s) will work with an established development team on a web-based data management system used to support data entry and reporting for schools and researchers (https://dibels.net/). The primary responsibility will be providing PHP programming support. MySQL programming experience is a plus.

Qualifications
Required:
- Graduate student or recent graduate in CIS, or a Junior or Senior who has completed at least half of the core requirements for a Bachelor's degree in CIS.

Preferred, but not required:
- Experience with programming in PHP or similar language.
- Experience or class work in SQL/MySQL programming.
- Experience using Linux.

Hallspot - Developer (Eugene, OR)


Hallspot is a start-up run by University of Oregon students. We Connect students to the most important thing in their lives, their university campus and surrounding campus area. Hallspot is the localized network college students are wanting yet don't currently have. We've raised major funding from silicon valley angel investors, and are remodeling a downtown Eugene office suite with a design on par with Google's offices. Launching summer 2013. 

For Hallspot development we plan on using two separate back-ends, one for mobile and one for web. Our web application will be created using Python web framework "Django". To build our mobile application we plan on using “Node.js” to insure a highly scalable application, with “Q” promises. Lastly, client side development we will use “Angular.js” with Model-View-Controller (MVC) design pattern to decouple code and to separate concerns. Interested?
